Heritage research and conservation documentation for a National Trust for Scotland property

Lead Conservation Architect preparing a Heritage Statement for the Rustic Summer House, a late-19th-century timber garden structure within Crathes Castle’s walled garden. The project included detailed historical research, archival analysis, and photographic recording to evaluate architectural and cultural significance within the designed landscape. Analysis of historical maps, estate records, and images informed understanding of the structure’s construction and role within the estate.

The Heritage Statement supported National Trust for Scotland stewardship and ongoing conservation management of this Category A listed site.
